George Paulin

George Paulin is a talented audio engineer and the owner of Great Lake Records, a studio in Grand Rapids specializing in lathe-cut vinyl.

He began his career in Los Angeles, honing his skills with Grammy-winning engineer Tom Weir and gaining experience in recording, post-production, and live sound. After moving to Chicago, he worked as an IATSE stagehand for prestigious acts like the Joffrey Ballet and Chicago Philharmonic, deepening his understanding of sound and production.

With a Bachelor’s degree in Audio Engineering from Ex'pression College for Digital Arts, George combines academic knowledge with extensive hands-on experience. At Great Lake Records, he focuses on providing artists with unique physical releases and offers services in recording, mixing, mastering, and audio restoration.

Now in Grand Rapids for over a year, 38-year-old George is a devoted father of three. He draws inspiration from the local music scene and actively collaborates with artists to enhance the community’s cultural landscape.
